This year at Chelsea we were commissioned to film three show gardens on behalf of their respective sponsors, plus filming the exhibitors’ build-up inside the Great Pavilion for the BBC. A total of five permanent cameras covered the action full-time, with an additional four cameras set up during regular visits throughout the three weeks of construction.
The combination of time-lapse and live video, wide shots and close ups, construction work and detailed planting, resulted in three excellent films described by our clients as “such great work” and “an amazing video”, and ready for maximum promotion potential online and on TV screens in hospitality tents around the show ground. The videos were featured by UK press websites The Telegraph and The Guardian. Thousands of viewers have now seen the planning, effort and detail that goes into producing a gold medal winning garden at the most prestigious event of its type in the world.
We’re immensely proud of the extraordinary effort made to capture these builds from turning the first clod of turf to the final wipe of a leaf, and we hope they do justice to the enormous talent and expertise of the finest designers and gardeners. Perhaps the best aspect is being part of these specialist teams that make Chelsea happen.
